In 2008 Chris and I went to the Finger Lakes region in New York State for our honeymoon. We cruised the wine trail and had a fantastic time. Here I am, a new bride, standing next to the sign for Dr. Konstantin D. Frank & Son’s vineyard.
Dr. Franks (as the vineyard is known) sits along the Keuka Lake wine trail, near Hammondsport, NY. All of the vineyards surround the beautiful Finger Lakes and visiting the tasting rooms is so much fun.
Chris ordered this Salmon Run Riesling (2010) for me and we got a few extra bottles to sell in the shop. The steely acidic backbone and pear and apple flavors allow it to pair well with all kinds of food.
I hope you’ll like this wine as much as I do. It takes me back to a sweet time in my life!
Cheers!
Kristin & Chris

Salmon Run is a second label for Dr. Frank, and I’m not 100% promising anything yet, but I may have scored an amazing deal on some of Dr. Frank’s own label’s (multi)award-winning dry Riesling – so good of a deal that we’ll be able to pass on a large savings to other fans of Riesling and the Finger Lakes vineyards. We’ll see if we struck gold tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

And there you have it. As hoped (and currently mentioned on the latest newsletter) we were able to score a great deal on the latest vintage of Dr. Frank Dry Riesling – a multi, multi-award winner from the Finger Lakes and one of our favortive wineries. This deal will let us sell it for about $5-6 less than you’ll find it most other places.
